BRIKA back to school giveaway!

Officially, there are 30 more days of summer until the Fall Equinox on September 22. Unofficially, however, there’s exactly one week until September (when fall undeniably registers in our consciousness), meaning there are seven full days to check any last-minute items off your summer or brush up on how to make the most of the end of your summer. Luckily, the longer Labor Day weekend somewhat mitigates back to school growing pains, and in that sense, we’re also here to help. We’re offering over $100 of products in this giveaway, which includes the following:

  • Molly M metallic leather pouch
  • Sprouts Press leather journal
  • Casey D Sibley coin pouch
  • Avril Loreti set of 2 notebooks
  • Casey D Sibley tray

Think of it as a consolation prize of sorts, if you’re already lamenting the end of lazy summer days. To enter, simply leave a comment below letting us know what inspires you about the fall season – is it the chance for a fresh start? The crisp air that lets you show off your sartorial chops/lessons in layering? We want to know! We’ll reach out to the lucky winner on September 1st. Good luck!

being in texas, fall is definitely motivating for me once the cooler weather gets here. i feel more productive – getting outside with the kids, working out, exploring new places – because then the heat isn’t a factor. usually, i feel stuck indoors trying to keep cool, or chunking out so much money to take the kids out to indoor places, so i feel more in control of my choices in the fall and winter. it’s just so much more pleasant and makes me extremely happy! i love fall. it absolutely does feel like a new start.

Living in Idaho the Fall seasons colors inspire you to pull out your boots, scarfs and layers. To soak up the long shadows and crisp of the fall evenings on hikes and bike rides. As well as get back into the yoga studio and kitchen to make hearty soups and roast yummy seasonal veggies!

I love that I can finally be outdoors without getting bitten by mosquitoes, open my windows to let in some fresh air instead of having the air condition run 24/7, and wear comfy sweaters in and outside.

Although I hate to see summer slipping away, I enjoy the “fresh start” of fall by purging and organizing. I enjoy the excitement in the air as kids, no matter how old they are, are getting ready for the new school year. I love the crisp mornings followed by the warm afternoon and chilly nights. Football is definitely my highlight of the season!!
I’m trying to overcome the sadness of the close of summer by filling my thoughts with the Fresh Start of fall with all of these things!

The fall season, with it’s crisp air and falling leaves, inspires me to slow down and take time to see the beauty in my life. Summer can be go-go-go, full of adventures and family time and one too many sunburns. But fall encourages me to look at the world through a refreshing lens of thankfulness. But also, who’s not rejoicing over the return of the pumpkin spice latte?!

The changing of seasons, especially in New York inspires, changes and opens up perspectives and freshness. In a city that is constantly moving forward, the change of seasons evokes a fresh start, a chance to reinvent yourself. Who knows what will happen when the weather cools down a bit?

What inspires me about fall is the colors! Oh, I cannot wait for the trees to change colors! The colors change and then it’s evenings by the fire in the back yard (with cocoa for the kids and warm grown-up drinks for us) and warm fuzzy sweaters with beautiful crispness in the air! My kids, raking the leaves and diving into the piles! Those are the absolute most wonderful pictures too! Long walks down sidewalks covered in dried leaves…
And the best part… NO MORE LAWN MOWING! With any luck, the snow blower won’t come out until the new year, and we get to have a few months of nothing but cleaning up the yard in preparation for next spring.
Fall, it’s inspiring in so many ways! My most favorite of the seasons! Part of me wishes I could have it all the time… but then I wouldn’t appreciate it as much as I do this way!

Oh man – what about fall doesn’t inspire me? The minute the sun hits the sky in a different way once the days start to shrink. The fresh, clean, life-giving air. The amazing colors. AWL OF THE GOURDS. Being able to utilize my plethora of scarves. The new seasons of the best tv shows. Football. PSLs. There is nothing better than the season of the basic girl. I love each and every minute of it. If there was ever a place for fall 24/7, I would live there the rest of my days.

I go on long walks at the Nature Center yearround and observe the wildlife near the water, which I find refreshing and it renews my energy. The air being crisp along with the gradual change in leaves on and off the trees is what I look forward to in autumn. And with each changing season, I feel like turning over a new leaf and get excited about learning something new. This fall, I’m going back to school for an RN Refresher course where the book is 3 inches thick and so is the binder of Powerooints. We’re told not to lug either to class and to pace ourselves.

My university’s campus is filled to the brim with trees that turn all possible colors when October rolls around. I’ll be sitting in the library, working, and all I have to do is look up and I get a veritable fire made from the trees. The only green thing left will be the main building, whose once-grey stones somehow turned green over the 200 years since it was built. It is a welcome distraction, and I suddenly get the urge to pull out a canvas (which I don’t have) and paint (I also lack the brushes and the paints–really, it’s a flawed idea). But I sit there, drinking coffee, surrounded by books on Shakespeare, watching the bundled students scurry to and fro, buffeted by the afternoon wind, mixing paint in my head and naming the colors of the trees. I make up for my lack of canvas by whipping up steaming mugs of Mexican hot chocolate for my roommates and I when I get back to the apartment. The cinnamon, vanilla, and, yes, chili are perfect to pair with the musty yet crisp smell of fall.

Fall has always been my favorite season. As a child, I loved starting new classes but I admit that I loved the trappings of back-to-school season – the new supplies and clothes – at least as much. As an adult I still find the changes inherent in the season both exciting and comforting, from the cooling temperature and the slow shift of colours to kicking off new projects at work that never seem to get started during the summer season. And despite not being in classes, I usually still find a need for some “back-to-school” shopping!

I am super excited about the fresh air and feelings that are associated with a new start. I love the fall colors as well the ability to see things changing and falling away. I feel that it is a direct reflection of the process necessary to usher change in our own lives. Sometimes things fall away, it’s a time to begin preparations for the amazing things that happen as we process the ebb and flow. Such a beautiful gift set. Thank you for the opportunity 🙂

Fall named “Indian Summer” is my favourite time of the year. To watch the beautiful changing colours of the leaves is breathtaking. To walk on those crunchy leaves and listen to the sound. It is a time for hikes, retrospection about the summer which has ended. Fall for me as a First Nations person is the start up of the potlatch and feast ceremonies. Fall is the best!

Fall inspires me with it’s color pallet, the crisp, cool air, the feeling of change, the comfort of upcoming holidays–but especially the fall foods–pumpkin soup, squash soup, warm melty biscuits, smores over a campfire, baked potatoes–its the harvest wrap up and the beginning of soup season. Nothing warm tastes half so good as when its cooler outside.

As the leaves change colours and begin to fall, the green tree canopy I see from my balcony starts to thin. The city comes alive with people and culture, but it’s in the fall that I start to see what keeps us all together. Our houses, our streets, our parks all reveal themselves to me more and more with every falling leave. The city becomes transparent, and from my perch I have the chance to reflect on all the strengths and weaknesses of my surroundings.

And I can’t help but to mention that fall is the time when I get to bring out my favourite accessory – scarves!! No matter what I’m wearing, there’s a colour, pattern or texture to mix and match with my outfit. I feel cosy and comfortable all day, and I know that I can take on the crisp, fresh weather that awaits outdoors!

Ah, fall. Back-to-school time brings the energy of new beginnings. The smell of a freshly sharpened pencil, a new box of crayons, inky textbook end pages, and secrets shared behind an open palm with giggles. Just the thought of the opening bell makes me more productive though exams are far behind me. The slightly cooler temperatures bring promise, in the stirring of a breeze, that though I am still sweating there is hope for fuzzy sweaters, leather boots, football tailgates, and dining al fresco in days to come.

Besides the fall colours, comfy sweaters, blanket scarves, photo ops and of course, pumpkin spice lattes… Fall is a very influential time, as if is another new years, a chance that people feel as if they can make new goals and start over. Wether it is the fitness, academic, career or family goals that they put off after new years or summer, fall is a perfect time to realign with your goals and your life purpose. For myself especially, fall is the beginning of another semester or another year for myself as a student and to reach my academic goals. Going into my final year at a Canadian University for marketing it gives me an opportunity to get creative and to hopefully not only become a university graduate, but to also become an honours student.

Well, i’d like to start by saying my favorite thing about entering the Fall season is pumpkin themed/flavored EVERYTHING. Let’s be honest, the crave for Pumpkin Spice Lattes to start your day is a serious struggle we all cope with and luckily, the drought is just about over. But more than that, Fall is a time of wonder. The colors change as the maple leaves fall delicately from the towering trees that surround my walk to work. The air is clean, as if already promising the coming period of a new start, whether it be at a school or in life. Out with the old and in with the new, as the saying goes but ultimately, on top of the colors and the food and the bustle of excitement in malls and department stores as people of all ages get excited for the holidays to come, Fall brings with it the pure essence of possibility; the glimmer of hope that this year could be the year that something extraordinary happens.

Fall for me is a chance to regroup. The ever busy days of summer are behind, the weather is cooling and I begin to change my routine as I prepare to homeschool my daughter. My garden gets cleaned and I delight in the harvest. I begin to prepare for winter and the holiday season. I linger on my walks to enjoy the ever changing color of the trees and pause when the cool wind blows across my face. I find a peace and comfort in the season. I love pulling on a soft sweater as I bring out my warmer clothes and slip into a pair of comfy faded blue jeans. I find I am most content at this time of year and enjoy it before it quietly slips away.

Fall’s breeze blows in like the crunchy leaves swirling in self made circles. The changing of the season means a still quietness that contrasts with a loud fun filled summer. There’s alone time. Kids are back in school, I can catch my breath and come up and fill my lungs with cool air. Cozy sweaters and socks, delicious butternut squashes just waiting to be puréed into a savory soup. The burst of colours outside while you are wrapped up in your favourite blanket, with your favourite book, drinking your favourite hot tea, sitting in your favourite corner of the garden… Autumn is all about “favourites” and it inspires me to cherish and love what I have, while the hope for the best is in the air…

The best thing about autumn here in Seattle is the crisp fall air and the return of scarf season!

I love the fall. It is so refreshing to have the cooler temperatures & see the beautiful colours of the changing leaves. Mother nature is awesome! I am happy to see the kids back to school. I love pumpkins, Halloween & Thanksgiving. I enjoy getting back into doing baking & cooking. I welcome the warmer, more comfortable clothing. I even enjoy watching more TV. Things seem less hectic & I am grateful for that.

The change in the weather always invigorates me. The crispness of the air is truly delicious, as are all of the apple and pumpkin treats that start appearing. And my favorite color, orange, and favorite holiday, Halloween, are hallmarks of the season. Winter is wonderful, but I think fall is truly “the most wonderful time of the year.” 🙂

The leaves changing color is a huge fall signal for me. It’s like a new beginning of the year in August.

What inspires me about the fall season is, being able to wear winter clothes, and being able to show of my Fall winter style, I love boots, scarves, cute petty coats, that I’m able to wear. I just love fall, the smell of pumpkin spice in the air. Knowing that the holidays are around the corner 🙂

I’m inspired by the lower temperatures and lower humidity! I can start to wear my hair down, grab a jacket, and walk around without being drenched in sweat (sorry, I’m an honest southerner)!

the wonderful display of colours from the trees all the way to little kids heading back to school…fall means taking out those pretty scarves we tucked out away but have been peeking out from the drawers since mid-August…

I love the new start of the school year, the fresh air to go walking outside and just a routine to follow. It’s a great time to start a new exercise program too.

Football and the school spirit that comes with it. The crispness of the air. How days get shorter, encouraging you to snuggle up on the couch with a book. Taking a walk through the leaves.

I look forward to fall because I like getting back to cute sweaters and not sweating on my walk to work 😛 The air gets crisp instead of humid and just makes me feel WAY better about everything!

Fall by far is probably my favorite season! 😍There are warm sweaters, long scarfs and my lovely long boots,👢 (which I adore!)💓. The colors for fall get darker and warmer and the overall feeling 🍁🍂and ambience fall brings is warm. I also love partying during Halloween 🎃 and spending time with the family on thanksgiving. 🦃

I miss the leaves changing now that I live in a desert, but it finally cools down enough for me to start baking again!

Though it has been years since I’ve been in school, I still get excited when the new school supplies come out. Something about stacks of fresh notebooks and colorful markers makes me want to start something new!

The falling of the leaves inspires me about Fall because it signifies both an ending and, in a short time after, a new beginning in life.

Alllllright fall is right around the corner and who’s excited??? THIS GIRL. I love summer but fall is just that perfect “chill” season where it’s not too hot and not too cold. I live in Florida and I love playing with makeup. Humidity + makeup doesn’t mix too well. I also treat myself with a new hairstyle just as fall is about to start! I started doing this to reward myself from surviving half of the year, and to look forward for the rest of the year. Fall outfits are too cute as well. I also can’t wait to meet new people both at work and school. Now imagine rocking these items and carrying them with me as the rest of the year “falls?” 😉

Even though I’m no longer in school (and haven’t been in some time!) I still get into the motivating buzz of the start of the fall season and it helps me kick back into gear after the lazy days of summer.

What inspires ME about the fall season? The memories of fresh starts: New note pads, new pens, new uniforms! The cooler, shorter days heralding the change of seasons. Harvests and fresh vegetables that you don’t get all the time.

The chance to create new traditions with my littles. Fall also makes me feel like it’s a fresh start to the year and couldn’t we all use a bit of that?

I love the fall because it is always a fresh start. Growing up I was an army brat and we always arrived at a new place, a new school in the fall. It was a time to get new school clothes, decorate a new room and make new friends.
